Forty-five years in the trade, the largest plumbing education channel on YouTube, and the person standing at the front of the room for all three days of every HALO Water Tour class.

Roger Wakefield is a Texas Master Plumber with 45 years in the trade, LEED AP accredited and Green Plumbing Certified. He created the largest plumbing education channel on YouTube, with more than 760,000 subscribers and 24 million views a year, and he teaches the three-day HALO Certified Water Quality Expert class across the HALO Water Tour.
He has appeared on the Today Show, NewsNation and Dr. Phil, and served on a skilled trades panel with the Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor on the National Mall in 2026. He operates Roger Wakefield, LLC out of Wylie, Texas.
The plain version: he is a plumber who spent four and a half decades in the trade and then spent the last several years teaching it to everybody else.
Texas Master Plumber · LEED AP · Green Plumbing Certified · Today Show, NewsNation and Dr. Phil · Skilled trades panel with the Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor, National Mall, 2026
A Texas Master Plumber license, LEED AP accreditation, and Green Plumbing Certification, backed by 45 years working in the trade rather than writing about it. The license is the one that matters in a classroom full of licensed plumbers, because it means the instructor holds the same card they do.
| Credential | Type | What it means here |
|---|---|---|
| Texas Master Plumber | State license | The highest plumbing license Texas issues. Held, not honorary. |
| LEED AP | Accreditation | Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, accredited professional. |
| Green Plumbing Certified | Certification | Water and energy efficient plumbing practice. |
| 45 years in the trade | Experience | Field work, not a career spent adjacent to the trade. |
This matters more than it sounds. Search "how to read a water quality report" or "water treatment certification" and you will find product pages, softener retailers and auto-generated blog posts. There is almost never a named human with a license attached to the answer. That is the gap this class and this site are built in.
Because he spent most of a career walking past the sale. Water quality was somebody else's department, the question came up in customers' kitchens, and the answer was always some version of "you could look into a filter" on the way to the job he came for.
I treated water quality as somebody else's department for most of my career. I would get the question in a customer's kitchen, say something about looking into a filter, and move on to the job I came for.
I have no idea how much money I walked past. It is a lot.
I built that channel teaching plumbers the things nobody taught me. This tour is that, in a room, for three days.
You are already in those houses. Nothing about this requires you to buy a single new lead.
All three days, in every city. Day one is water science and certification, day two is product knowledge and presentation, and day three is the sales curriculum he built himself. Nothing is installed at any class. It is a knowledge class taught to people who already know how to hang equipment.
The full day-by-day breakdown, including what each day's certification exam covers, is on the curriculum page.
The Today Show, NewsNation and Dr. Phil, plus a skilled trades panel with the Acting U.S. Secretary of Labor on the National Mall in 2026. The through line in all of it is the same argument: the trades are a career, not a fallback, and the country is short of people who can do the work.

Context for why the trade needs this: the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics counted 504,500 plumbers, pipefitters and steamfitters employed in 2024, with roughly 44,000 openings projected a year through 2034.

Texas Master Plumber, which is the highest plumbing license the state issues, plus LEED AP accreditation and Green Plumbing Certification. Behind the paper is 45 years working in the trade. In a classroom of licensed plumbers, the license is the credential that counts, because it means the instructor holds the same card the room does.
No. Roger Wakefield, LLC owns and operates the HALO Water Tour, funds it, and carries the risk on it. HALO Water Systems is the manufacturer and the certifying partner, and the HALO Certified Water Quality Expert credential is licensed into the tour. HALO and HALO Water Systems are trademarks of HALO Water Systems, LLC, used with permission.
Roger Wakefield teaches all three days in every city. Day three, the sales curriculum, is the day he built himself. HALO provides the certification syllabus and supports the technical content, and a HALO unit is in the room on day two.
Because nobody teaches it. A licensed plumber already knows how to install equipment. What he was never taught is how to test water in front of a homeowner, explain the result in plain language, price the job, and answer the four objections that kill the sale. That is the gap, and it is why day three exists.
